In Müllendorf, valuable raw material for new bottles is produced from used, discarded PET bottles. The process employs sustainable, modern methods that are energy-efficient and prevent damage to the material. Our products are carefully and thoroughly cleaned and meet the highest food industry standards.
Each year, more than 26,000 tonnes of used PET bottles are converted into so-called washed PET flakes in three colours. In a second stage, the washed flakes are treated in order to achieve food-grade standards. State-of-the-art methods – the URRC process and Starlinger granulation – guarantee the highest level of quality. Depending on the bottle type, new bottles contain at least 30-40% recycled PET.
